Broken down...

I hate life sometimes. I hate when you get to a point where you are truly happy, but then things go wrong again. Other than a parent dying, I pretty much have had everything crappy happen. Last year my dad almost died- he still isn't in great shape now. The day after he went back to the hospital, just a few weeks ago, my mom gets rushed to the hospital. It never seems to end. Right before Christmas, my sister nearly dies. Finances are still a disaster. My heart is still broken. I don't know what to do in my life. So much more has happened that I don't even feel like writing. I just wish...wish that I could just be happy long enough before something else bad happens. I am so sick of this. I feel alive, but at the same time, I feel that other people, and circumstances are trying to suffocate me. But I won't give up that easily. I just need God. I need His strength. I need His spirit. I need faith to fight through these battles.

I claim Psalm 20 as a promise of God. Nothing less.
God, hear my cry. I am desperate and broken. I believe you are with me.

"Do this because you are a people set apart as holy to God, your God. God, your God, chose you out of all the people on Earth for himself as a cherished, personal treasure.

God wasn't attracted to you and didn't choose you because you were big and important—the fact is, there was almost nothing to you. He did it out of sheer love, keeping the promise he made to your ancestors. God stepped in and mightily bought you back out of that world of slavery, freed you from the iron grip of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know this: God, your God, is God indeed, a God you can depend upon."

Deut. 7:6-8
